“When we deny our stories, they define us. When we run from struggle, we are never free. When we own our stories, we get to write the ending. Are you ready to turn toward truth and look it in the eye?” – Brené Brown
In 2011, I found Brené Brown’s TEDX talks about shame and vulnerability. I was working with people living with disordered eating at the time, and I kept hearing about shame in their stories. Her work on shame resilience and vulnerability resonated so strongly with me, and I attended a National Training in 2012 and became a Certified Connections Facilitator. Connections was the first curriculum that Brené developed with Hazeldon, based on her book I Thought It Was Just Me.
As Brené’s research has deepened over the years and she has continued to write books and evolve her curriculums to align with her data. I have been fortunate to have been engaged with the community through all the iterations. She developed The Daring Way™ curriculum that was connected to her book Daring Greatly and I was certified to facilitate that curriculum as well.
Most recently, as Brené’s new book, Rising Strong, is getting ready to be released (Aug 25, 2015), I was able to return to Texas to train in the new curriculum. It’s been very exciting staying on the cutting edge of this revolutionary work.
I have facilitated many Daring Way™ groups and intensives, with clients I saw in my therapy practice as well as with clinical professionals and community leaders. I look forward to bringing the Rising Strong™ group to the community.
If you are interested in participating in a group, please let me know. I would be happy to discuss upcoming group opportunities with you.
Check back to this page often. I will be listing upcoming groups and intensives here. Thank you.
